Garden Gallery

This has been Randy's office this summer. He has been working diligently in the garden just about every day. Its been good therapy for his arm. I think he is having a great time working in the dirt. Here are several pictures for you to look at. The more sparse area is where we have some peppers and cucumbers growing. Not sure if the peppers are going to make it. We'll get some cucumbers. We've already picked alot of peas. We're starting to pick our zucchini and yellow squash. We have an electric fence around the garden and so far we haven't had any little critters in our garden. Randy noticed some deer tracks earlier in the summer and some of the tops of our peas were gone. But now we have a better electric box hooked up to the fence and so far it seems to be working. Its been fun asking for advice from the older ladies that go to my church how to store all these veges. I don't know if they realize that they have some great knowledge that is lost in the younger generation. I hope we get some of that knowledge and put it to use for many years.

Man that is most awesome for you all. That is quite a garden!

You know, I've thought the same thing about your knowledge comment. We used to can stuff a ton as a kid, but I just did what I was told and didn't pay attention to the whole process cuz I was ready to go and ride my motorbike. :(

Just like doing the corn the other day - we had to ask. We know that one now! :)

What a nice garden. One of these days I plan to try container gardening. Our soil here is pretty rocky so that seems to be the way to go. We will see though. Indiana is where I did the most gardening. Mom O.
