We decided to have a yard sale to raise money for our Pathfinders and their international camporee next summer. Man, it just reiterated to me why I don't like yard sales. I can't believe the junk!!!!! But what was even more amazing to me was that most of the junk we had, people bought!!!!!! Stuff we had for sale were a bedroom set, dining room table and 4 chairs, 4 or 5 tents, many clothes, many shoes, many books, many kitchen gadgets, many crafty stuff, computers, monitors, TV's, printers and so much more. Oh, a piano and we also sold lemonade and home made chocolate chip cookies. We had a really good time. The heat was minimal and the humidity was low too. So we really had a good turn out. One thing that was funny as we were looking at what to put in the yard sale was we had a dog kennel that was dirty and kind of rusted and Randy was going to put it in the yard sale. I questioned him if we really should put it in just because it looked really bad. Randy said without hesitation oh yeah! It was the same scenerio with one of Calvin's bikes that he tore apart and was in pieces. Randy was positive about taking both of them to the yard sale. I was very skeptical. Well, you probably already guessed it. We had about 5 bikes at the yard sale and Calvin's torn apart bike was the first one to go. And then, there was one man that came in, walked right to the dog kennel, went right to the check out bought it and left. He must have seen it from the road and made a bee line to get it. Bizarre! We raised over $400.00! Thats alot of junk, being the most of the stuff was priced under a dollar! I think the most expensive item that sold was $25.00. We felt really blessed!
