Oh Deer! Carlie has done something that I haven't done.....yet and hopefully never. Carlie got to spend the weekend with her grandma. Saturday night I got a phone call. Carlie said, "I hit a deer!" Carlie and grandma were returning home from spending some time with other family members that live in the area. They were actually close to our home when the ever dreaded event happened. It was dusk and grandma's eyes were adjusting as two vehicles going the opposite way just past. Next thing she knew there were 5 deer dashing right in front of her. Grandma screeched her brakes, but the last deer still didn't have a chance. They heard a big thud, grandma was expecting the airbags, but they didn't deploy. Carlie, seat buckled in, sat wide-eyed trying to digest what just happened. The deer didn't die right away, so grandma called grandpa who called Randy and asked him to put the deer out of its misery. By the time Randy got his gear and arrived the deer was dead. Oh boy! The poor car got banged up a bit, but we are ever so thankful that grandma and Carlie are safe and sound!

Glad everyone was ok. I saw a deer the other day and decided to see if what they say would work. I blasted the air horn and did that deer run. fortunitly it ran away and not across the road. I would have been ok anyway since it was day and I was going slow. But 5 deer who would have a chance?

O my goodness! We are always afraid of those Deer. Never know just when one will jump out in front of the bumper. Read our blog and you will find out about the herd of cows we saw coming right up the highway with cowboys and everything. Glad we didn't hit a cow.
