My Funky Monkey

Hello people. This is my Funky Monkey. Calvin got that name because everything he does is funky. He is quite creative and loves to do experiments. Right now he is growing his hair out. Eventually he wants to get dreadlocks. FUNKY! In this picture he is recovering from a run in with his school's gym wall.

Here, Calvin is helping his dad. Randy asked him to take the ladders downstairs after decorating the Christmas tree. Calvin was more than happy to help.....in his own creative way. We were quite worried that we might be visiting the ER and the OR with a broken bone. But, he was insistent to do things his own way. So, we decided to go with the flow and take pictures.

Here he is starting to realize it might be a little more tricky than what he thought......maybe mom and dad knew what we we're talking about. But now he gets more determined that his new way is going to work.

All in his own plans, he needs to re-think things out.

He finally got it where he could walk and keep his balance.

Its time for a break, that was exhausting to figure out that funky way of carrying two ladders. He eventually got the ladders down the stairs and put away without a hitch.

This is my funky monkey doing a trick. He knows to do a trick first, then tell me what he already did. This is a tree that one of the limbs broke from a storm in the fall. Haven't gotten around to sawing it down. Now my son has decided he needs to put it to use some how. This limb is probably about 10 feet up in the air. Calvin climbed up and you see the rest. At least he has some nice snow to land in. He did this funky trick several times.

Soft landing! I was pretty amazed getting this picture. I couldn't see anything for either one. It was quite dark.

By the way, the new camera was given to us by Randy's brother. He felt that it was his fault that our other camera broke. He bought us a Sony digital camera. Its nice. Still trying to get used to a few buttons, but we're putting it to good use.
