New Hair

Here's my daughter with her new haircut. It was becoming such a struggle to keep all the rats and knots out of her hair. I tried very hard to let her be independent brushing her hair, but when I would check to see how she did, there was always a problem spot with knots and rats all the time. She hated it when I brushed her hair, of course! Isn't that the natural thing between a mom and her daughter?
I had been telling Carlie that one day we were going to cut her hair. So the day came. She wasn't sure about cutting it short, but I did it anyway. After she washed it and brushed it she was hooked. She hasn't had to fight a rat since. She also thinks she looks more like a tom-boy and she likes that too. In fact, Calvin's hair is actually longer than Carlie's now.
So, here she is getting ready for her Christmas play.
