Randy's surgery continued

Here are some pictures of Randy. All things considered, he had very good care at the hospital. The crew in the O.R. were great and the nurses on the floor were great too. The physical therapist were real good too. He will start outpatient PT next Monday. His surgeon says that Randy needs to give himself about 3 weeks to really start feeling back to normal. This picture is when Randy was brought to his room after surgery. He had been there for a little while and he was starting to be more awake when the kids were there. Calvin is being true to heart. He is experimenting with the gadgets there.

Randy is at home now and feeling pretty good. I have to get after him just a bit to make sure he keeps himself medicated. He hates how narcotics make him feel. But he needs just a little bit so he can move and sleep. So Randy and the nurses had a time trying to figure out what was going to work.

That round dark dot is where a tube was located (hemovac) that wicks out fluid from around the surgical site. His incision looks really good. There are steri strips over the incision. His arm is quite bruised too.
